After months of planning, I’m thrilled to bring our newest press event called “peek” to life. Peek puts the newest and coolest consumer lifestyle products in front of the consumer media in a format that I’ve already demonstrated can be an effective (and quite honestly) and efficient way for brand marketers to raise their media profile.

This new PeekBlog is intended to be a real-time communications channel to provide updates on upcoming peek events, feedback from media, and hopefully initiate a dialogue with brand marketers and their agencies about PR and event marketing.

PeekBlog will not be a trendspotting product showcase. While that angle might seem logical given we’re always on the hunt for cool new products, conflicts of interest prevent me from going in that direction. There are already lots of terrific product trend sites like Luxist, JoshSpear, Engadget, Product Dose and Cool Hunting, for example, which do a much better job than I ever could. My focus is on events and event marketing with a PR bent.

That’s not to say that I won’t share new products that I find from time to time, but when I do, I’ll disclose whether the company and/or product is involved in our events.

We’re excited about peek, and I hope you will be too. I encourage you to comment on what we’re doing and ask questions that others in your situation are probably asking as well. I’ll do my best to offer answers that help everyone.
